The inspiration…

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to go on a shore dive with some of the girl gang in Exmouth, W.A. One of the girls managed to haul up a painted crayfish weighing around 3.5kg.

The painted cray is a species of spiny lobster that are often found off the WA coast. The binomial name is “Panulirus Versicolor” and is seen near the top left of the tail.

Crayfish design is large on the back and small on the chest pocket.
